Under the hood, TalkyTalky is built around one idea: your own persistent team, with changing intelligence — and now, changing capabilities — underneath. The platform coordinates which AI model handles each message (the Auto Frontier Router blends the top 10 frontier large language models (LLMs), refreshed daily) and layers on persona, memory, voice, translation, and safety. From today, that coordination extends beyond models. A companion that receives an actionable request — "book a table for two after 8" or "send this email" — hands the task to the user's own task agent. A companion asked about current events searches the live web and answers with cited sources. The user talks to one companion; the platform coordinates everything behind it.
Hands: companions that carry out tasks
Users connect their own task agent — for example, Tasklet, an AI agent platform for real-world actions — through a simple link on the Bring Your Own API Key (BYOK) page. From then on, any companion can delegate real tasks in ordinary conversation. The user's agent does the work with the user's own connected tools, such as email or browsing, and when the task finishes, the result appears back in the chat with the companion. The design keeps control with the user: the companion never holds tool credentials, the task runs on the user's own agent account and plan, and TalkyTalky pays nothing toward it. Every companion on the platform can delegate — the guide and every persona alike.
Eyes: companions that know today
Users who add their own Exa search key — Exa provides search built for AI applications — give their companions live web knowledge. Ask about this week's news, current prices, or this year's elections, and the companion answers from current web sources, citing where the facts came from. Searches run directly on the user's own key — TalkyTalky never marks up or meters them — and Exa's free tier includes monthly search credits, so many users add live knowledge at no extra cost.
Built on the platform's foundations
